The sensory and motor tracts of the central nervous system and brain can be reconstructed by characterizing the orientation of the diffusion of water molecules using diffusion tensor imaging. In this video, Ronald L. Wolf, MD, PhD, provides an overview of a process known as fiber tractography that complements DTI to improve presurgical planning and risk assessment in the neurological setting. Dr. Wolf’s presentation is replete with case studies and scans, and explores the combination of fiber tracking with other technologies.
