Penn Presbyterian Medical Center’s Grand Rounds program welcomed Patricia Pellikka, M.D., the Betty Knight Scripps Professor in Cardiovascular Disease Clinical Research and Vice Chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Pellikka discussed the contemporary etiologies and mechanisms in native aortic valve regurgitation, the role of echocardiography in timing the intervention in aortic regurgitation, and the application of valvular heart disease guidelines to optimize outcomes in aortic regurgitation.
