January 23, 2020 is Maternal Health Awareness Day in Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously passed this resolution as a result of rising deaths related to pregnancy in Pennsylvania and across the country.

In recognition of Maternal Health Awareness Day, Penn Medicine hosted an American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) sponsored statewide talk and webinar aimed at raising awareness about maternal health and promoting maternal safety. Given that most maternal deaths are preventable, it is crucial to understand why women are dying to help save lives.
