In this brief retrospective, the principals of the Penn Orthoplastic Limb Salvage Center (POLSC), Drs. Samir Mehta, Stephen Kovach and L. Scott Levin, offer an insightful overview of the Center and its mission.
As the only program of its kind in the nation, POLSC provides skilled microsurgical and complex fracture expertise for patients that are at high-risk of limb amputation or in need of functional limb restoration.
“With our sophisticated techniques and our multidisciplinary approach, between neurologists and neurosurgeons, reconstructive microsurgeons and our hand surgery group, there are things that we can do that very few places in the world can do,” Dr. Levin explains.
To consult with a Penn physician or refer a patient to Penn's Center, call 215-615-6978. You will be connected with a Penn Orthoplastic Limb Salvage Center surgeon to discuss your patient’s case.
